Gallery Protocol

Public Art, is any art that has been organised and arranged with the intention to be staged in the physical public domain, accessible to all. It is often not that simple to accomplish, it requires advance booking space (often a year or two), money (possibly thousands), time. Public art has to show a relationship between the content and audience, what the art is saying and to whom.

Art Dealer, is a person or company that buys and sells work of art. Art dealer’s usually go around the world to exhibitions, auctions, and artist’s studios looking for good buys, treasures, and exciting new works. It is an Art dealer’s profession to set high standards and to support art exhibition and shows. It would normally take 6 months or more to book in advance for available space.

Artist-Run Space, is a gallery space run by artists, which they can bypass the structures of public and private galleries. It has been realised to take an important part in urban regeneration. Artist-run space doesn’t require much money, in fact it can cost to absolutely nothing to run. It can vary to how long it takes to display from 3 months to a year, which is less than what most gallery spaces allow.

Tertiary, is a gallery that university students have access to their own art gallery on campus, if they have one. Tertiary provides a variety of learning opportunities and experience for educators that can support students with their own art making or art history.
